Be sure to check on the regulations for your area. Some areas require registration of your day care. Go to your local politician or to her website for information about regulations for day care providers in your area. Communities need good day cares.  You will likely receive a positive response to your interest and questions about starting a home day care.

In Ontario, Canada you may care for up to 5 children in your home without being licensed.

The Day Nursery Act (DNA) (Licensing) governs day care operations where care is being provided for more than 5 children while they are under 10 years old, or if they have a developmental disability and are under 18 years.

If you live in Ontario, please refer to the Day Nursery Act for information on this regulation.
